Kanal5 first to reach new integration platform at TeliaSonera

Today Comet5 became the first system to be connected with TeliaSonera's new integration platform for EPG data. The purpose of this kind of delivery is to increase the quality of the electronic program guides in the digital boxes, by adding more metadata and having correct start and end times of the programs. Especially incorrect times may be a problem when doing late schedule changes. Customers of TeliaSonera will now experience better precision on catch-up services and PVR recordings.

Comet5 customers will now have direct support for this delivery to TeliaSonera, and among our clients, Kanal5 was the first to connect.

Canal Digital reunion at the June office

Yesterday some 25 current and former employees of operator Canal Digital met at June at an informal reception with food and drinks and the opportunity to excel at the pinball machine or in the music quiz. This reception was also an inauguration of the June lounge, a new meeting place for all of us working with television.

CANAL9 launches in Norway

CANAL+ launches CANAL9, a new free-to-view channel in Norway. CANAL9 will show soccer from the major leauges such as Series A and at least 10 games from the European Soccer Championship 2012 are also planned.

June has delivered a web site for CANAL9 with a new and fresh look, which is managed with Comet in the same easy way as the rest of the web sites within the CANAL+ family.

Com Hem session with Skylar Grey tonight

Subscribers to cable operator Com Hem will be able to watch a Skylar Grey concert tonight on Digster Play. The concert was recorded in classic Nalen in Stockholm on August 25th and will premiere tonight as the first Com Hem Session, a series of live concerts. Universal Music uses Comet 5 to schedule concerts and play lists in this On Demand service.

Metadata based autoingest for Canal+ Iphone App

June has delivered a workflow for Canal+ giving them the possibility to, involving a very small amount of manual work, publish video clips from sports event to their brand new Iphone app. Video clips are produced internally at Canal+ by the editing department, directly from the broadcast of a sports event. The clips are stored in a server environment watched by Comet. Comet analyses the video and based on its metadata matches it to the transmission and schedule information which are also stored in Comet’s broadcast database. This will trigger an auto ingest where Comet transfers the video to Stremio’s streaming platform via an api. The video is also tagged with additional metadata from Comet.

The user specifies which teams or leagues to subscribe to. The Iphone app gets a feed via Comet’s api with metadata and video streams for the clips, enabling the user to view interesting clips directly in the Iphone.

Universal Music chooses Comet5

Universal Music has chosen Comet5 to deliver content to cable operator Com Hem's On Demand service. This new service will be called Digster Play and will premiere on August 18th. Digster Play will contain the latest music videos from Universal as well as selected live sessions.

C Sports portals are now based on Sumo

CANAL+ has switched platform for its pay per view web tv service C Sports, to Sumo from the norwegian company Vimond. Comet now delivers content to the Sumo platform which handles all streaming services.

Kanal 5 will be first on Comet 5

Swedish Kanal 5 has chosen Comet 5 as their platform for metadata management for upcoming SVOD and Play services. They will be the first channel to launch services based on our new Comet 5 Broadcast edition, a specialized product for information logistics within the broadcast industry.

Kanal 5 (Channel 5) is one of the largest TV channels in Sweden and is a part of the ProSiebenSat1 media group, with ownership of tv and radio stations in Europe. Swedish Kanal 9, Kanal 5 in Denmark and TVNorge in Norway are also part of the group.
